Every program here conducts at least 50% of the day in French — from infant rooms through pre-K classrooms.
Many K–12 schools also run their own PreK — start there directly, or continue from a French daycare. See every French immersion school across the United States.
This directory tracks 63 French daycare and preschool programs across 19 US metro areas — every one conducting at least 50% of the day in French, from infant rooms through pre-K classrooms.
The map is heavily coastal. The San Francisco Bay Area leads with 20 programs, followed by New York City (9) and Portland, OR (5). But French early education is no longer only a New York and San Francisco story: 10 metros, from Salt Lake City to Charleston, SC to Columbia, MO, now have exactly one French program each. In many of these cities it is the only French-immersion option for hundreds of miles.
Most of these programs teach entirely in French: 45 run full 100% French immersion and 5 more keep at least 80% of the day in French; the rest are genuine 50/50 bilingual tracks. Only 1 of the 63 is a free public program. French daycare in America is overwhelmingly private, and 38 of the 63 programs publish tuition openly (the rest quote on request).
Entry ages vary widely: a handful of programs accept infants from 1 mo, while most begin at 2–2.5 years and run through pre-K, handing children off to the K–12 French schools the main directory covers.
Ages, French share and tuition are sourced from each provider's website. Verify details directly with each program before enrolling.
