This page lists every French immersion and French curriculum school in the Los Angeles area, public and private — each with its program type, tuition, enrollment and accreditation. It is one metro area of an independent directory covering 239 schools across 34 US states.
Dual language programs follow the American curriculum with the school day split between French and English; French curriculum schools follow the French national program and are accredited by the French Ministry of Education. The private schools charge from $14,000 to $42,000 a year, averaging about $24,000.
Greater Los Angeles’s French-language schools span the LA basin and Orange County.
The city of Los Angeles proper has Richard Riordan Primary Center and Richland Avenue Elementary — two LAUSD dual language schools in the San Fernando Valley area. Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles is the region’s flagship private school: K–12, full AEFE affiliation, and widely regarded as one of the strongest French schools in the country.
International School of Los Angeles (ISLA) in Burbank operates a private K–8 program with multiple campuses, while International School of Orange County extends private French education to Orange County families (roughly 40 miles from Downtown LA).
What AEFE homologation, LabelFrancÉducation, the American accreditors and the International Baccalaureate each certify is explained in the guide to accreditations and credentials. For younger children, the Los Angeles daycare directory covers French daycares and preschools. You can also see every French school in California, or browse the full national directory.
