French Immersion Schools in Minnesota

Every school here is a dual language program, following the American curriculum with the school day split between French and English. None follows the French national curriculum. All of them are tuition-free. There is no private French school in Minnesota. Those flagged LabelFrancÉducation carry the French government's label for strong French programs abroad, awarded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Minnesota's 7 French-language schools form two complete public K–12 pathways in the Twin Cities metro. The Saint Paul pathway (L'Étoile du Nord → Hidden River MS → Central HS) runs 90% French at entry with DELF and IB Diploma at the high school. The Edina pathway (Normandale ES → Valley View MS → Edina HS) offers AP French and Seal of Biliteracy with native French-speaking teachers throughout. Notre École in Golden Valley is a public charter.
