About French schools in Atlanta and Georgia

This page lists every French immersion and French curriculum school in Atlanta and Georgia, public, charter and private — each with its program type, tuition, enrollment and accreditation. It is one metro area of an independent directory covering 239 schools across 34 US states.

Dual language programs follow the American curriculum with the school day split between French and English; French curriculum schools follow the French national program and are accredited by the French Ministry of Education. The two private schools, Atlanta International School and Da Vinci International School, charge between $23,000 and $37,000 a year.

Georgia’s French-language schools form a compact metro network anchored in Atlanta and its northern suburbs. The city itself has two private institutions — Atlanta International School in Buckhead and Da Vinci International School — plus GLOBE Academy, a free public charter in the city’s southwest.

The suburban programs spread across three counties: Rockbridge Elementary (Decatur, DeKalb County) and Evansdale Elementary (Doraville, DeKalb County) are free neighborhood public schools. Gwinnett County, Georgia’s largest school district, has two French dual language programs — Trip Elementary and Bay Creek Middle School (both in Grayson). International Public Charter School of Atlanta in Roswell serves North Atlanta families as a lottery-based free option.

Atlanta International School is the metro’s private anchor: K–12, IB Diploma, Baccalauréat Français. It is widely regarded as one of the strongest private schools in the Southeast.

Gwinnett County K–8 pipeline: Trip Elementary and Bay Creek Middle School in Grayson form one of the Atlanta area’s few public K–8 French immersion feeder pathways — students entering at the elementary level automatically advance to the partner middle school.

What AEFE homologation, LabelFrancÉducation, the American accreditors and the International Baccalaureate each certify is explained in the guide to accreditations and credentials. For younger children, a separate daycare directory covers French daycares and preschools. You can also see every French school in Georgia, or browse the full national directory.

We hope you will find this directory useful, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments or additional information on the schools listed here — or a school we are missing.
